Topaz Video pricing in 2026: $299 a year, or $708 if you pay monthly
The short version: Topaz Video (sold as Topaz Video AI until recently, and still searched that way) used to be the rare tool you bought once and owned. Since October 2025 it is a subscription, and the same licence now costs anywhere from $299 to $708 a year depending on which billing option you click. Topaz's pricing page shows those prices on separate tabs next to a bundle, a browser version and a Pro tier, so it is easy to compare the wrong two numbers. Below is the whole grid on one screen, read off topazlabs.com/pricing on 2026-09-23, with the three decisions that actually move the bill.
1. The full price grid
Topaz sells Topaz Video on its own, as part of the Topaz Studio bundle, and in a Pro version of each, against three billing options: annual (paid up front), annual billed monthly (a monthly price with a 12-month commitment), and monthly (no commitment). Here is every combination the pricing page published on 2026-09-23, with the yearly cost worked out so the columns compare like for like:
| Plan | Annual, prepaid | Annual, billed monthly | Monthly, no commitment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Topaz Video | $299/yr | $39/mo ($468/yr) | $59/mo ($708/yr) |
| Topaz Video Pro | $699/yr | $74/mo ($888/yr) | not shown |
| Topaz Studio (all apps) | $399/yr | $45/mo ($540/yr) | $69/mo ($828/yr) |
| Topaz Studio Pro | $799/yr | $79/mo ($948/yr) | not shown |
| Topaz for Web, Video (browser) | $199/yr (listed against $299) | n/a | $19/mo (listed against $29) |
All figures are USD before tax. Two cautions from reading the page closely. First, the browser prices are shown as a limited-time offer struck through from higher list prices, so expect them to move. Second, one block further down the same page lists Studio Pro at $75 a month billed every month for 12 months, while the billing tabs at the top say $79. We have published the tab price and are flagging the conflict rather than picking one silently: check the figure at checkout.
2. Billing: the same licence at three prices
The single biggest lever on what Topaz Video costs you is not the plan. It is the billing tab. For the standard licence:
- $299 a year if you pay up front
- $468 a year if you take the $39 monthly price with a 12-month commitment
- $708 a year if you pay $59 month to month
Month to month costs $409 a year more than prepaying, about 2.4 times as much for the identical licence. The middle option is the one to look at twice: it reads like monthly flexibility, but it carries the 12-month commitment and still costs $169 more than prepaying. If you are going to commit for a year anyway, prepaying is cheaper by that full $169.
3. Topaz Video alone, or the Studio bundle
Topaz Studio includes Topaz Video plus Topaz Photo, Gigapixel, the browser and iPhone apps, Bloom and Astra, with 300 video cloud credits a month (credits expire at the end of each month and do not roll over). The gap between Studio and Topaz Video alone is small on every tab:
| Billing | Topaz Video | Topaz Studio | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Annual, prepaid | $299 | $399 | +$100/yr |
| Annual, billed monthly | $39/mo | $45/mo | +$6/mo |
| Monthly | $59/mo | $69/mo | +$10/mo |
The arithmetic that settles it: Topaz Photo on its own is $199 a year and Gigapixel $149, so Topaz Video plus either one bought separately is $498 or $448 a year, against $399 for everything. If you would buy even one other Topaz app, Studio is cheaper than buying the two separately. If you only ever touch video, Studio is $100 a year for apps you will not open.
4. Who actually needs Pro
Pro is $400 a year more than the standard licence ($699 against $299), and the reason most people will reach for it is a worry about commercial use. Topaz's pricing page is specific about where the line sits: the standard licences cover personal and commercial use for organisations under $1M USD in annual revenue. Pro adds full commercial use above that line, plus seat management, higher limits and some Pro-only models.
So for a freelance editor licensing Topaz for their own business, client work does not by itself mean Pro. The revenue test applies to the organisation using the licence, and a solo editor or a two-person shop under $1M a year is inside the standard licence as Topaz describes it. Where it gets less clear is if a larger client supplies the seat, or you work as part of a studio that bills more than $1M. In that case the organisation over the line is the one that needs Pro, and that is a question for Topaz, not for us.
5. The browser version, and why we would not use it for client footage
Topaz for Web (Video) is the cheapest line on the page, at $199 a year or $19 a month on the current offer, with 200 credits a month. It is tempting on price, and it gives up the reason we recommend Topaz in the first place.
Our video editors stack picks Topaz partly because the desktop app renders locally, on your own machine. That matters because some client NDAs and broadcast agreements prohibit sending footage to third-party servers. The browser version processes in Topaz's cloud, which puts client footage exactly where those contracts say it should not go. Credits are also a real limit: Topaz's own Astra card equates 400 credits to roughly ten minutes of HD video, which gives a sense of how far a monthly credit allowance stretches.
6. What happened to the one-time licence

Topaz ended perpetual licences on 3 October 2025
Personal $299/year · Pro $699/year · topazlabs.com
Existing perpetual owners keep what they bought. Every new purchase is a subscription, and access ends when the subscription does. We recommended Topaz Video AI partly because it was the one tool in our catalogue you bought once and owned, and we recorded the change in our re-test log during the September 2026 price pass.
We still recommend it for the rescue job, on the same reasoning: local rendering, and it does the thing the footage cannot. But the case is narrower than it was. A tool you paid for once could sit unused for a year at no cost. A tool at $299 a year has to earn its keep every year.
If a one-time purchase matters to you more than Topaz's specific models, the one-time option already in our stack is DaVinci Resolve Studio (about $295, last checked on our video editors page; verify on Blackmagic's site). It includes its own AI features, and whether those cover your particular rescue jobs is something we have not tested, so we are not calling it a Topaz replacement.
7. What we have not evaluated
This page is about price, and price only. It is not a review of Topaz Video's output, and we have not run its models against each other or against Resolve, Runway or any other upscaler. We have not measured how far the monthly cloud credits go on real footage, and we have not tested the Pro-only models. A ranking of AI upscalers we have not run is exactly the page this site exists not to publish.
What this page does claim, and what you can check in two minutes: every figure above was read off topazlabs.com/pricing on 2026-09-23, fetched from a US connection, in USD. Click through its three billing tabs and you should see the same grid. If you see something different, Topaz has moved its prices and ours is stale, which is the thing we would rather you catch than not notice.
Topaz pays us nothing. It runs an open affiliate programme (20% per order, per its own affiliate page) that we have not joined. If we do, this page and the Commission Table will say so, and the recommendation will not change.
Common questions
How much does Topaz Video cost in 2026?
$299 a year paid up front, $39 a month on a 12-month commitment, or $59 a month with no commitment. Pro is $699 a year. The Studio bundle with every Topaz app is $399 a year, $45 a month committed, or $69 month to month. Verified October 2026; check the vendor page before buying.
Is Topaz Video AI still a one-time purchase?
No. Perpetual licences ended on 3 October 2025. Owners who bought before then keep their licence; new buyers subscribe.
Is Topaz Studio worth it over Topaz Video alone?
Only if you would use a second Topaz app. Studio is $100 a year more than Topaz Video on annual billing, and buying Topaz Video plus Photo separately costs $498, so Studio wins as soon as you need stills as well as video.
Do I need Pro to use Topaz for client work?
Not if your organisation is under $1M in annual revenue, according to Topaz's own pricing page. Pro is for organisations above that line, or for teams that need seat management.
